"Puppet, Toy and Shadow Theatre Festival"

Summer Festival 2008

The Puppets are returning to Bayshill Unitarian Hall for the Summer Puppet Festival which runs from Monday 11th August until Saturday 16th August. Daily performances at 11:00am and 2:30pm.

The ever popular Pelham Puppets perform a brand new production of "Coppelia", the well loved ballet story of the doll which comes alive.

"Peter and the Wolf" the rustic tale with music by Prokofiev will be performed alongside "Miranda and the Dancing Bells" in a double bill, both are brand new productions and are suitable for all ages.

Gina Scarbro presented "The Adventures of Buzzy Bee" with much success in August 2006, the show will return for three performances in her unique two-storey puppet booth, in which hand puppets and string puppets work together.

Peter and Sylvia Peasgood also return, this time with a spectacular toy theatre adaptation of the classic film "The Garden of Allah", which starred Marlene Dietrich and Charles Boyer as the doomed lovers. This is a world premiere and comes to Cheltenham prior to visiting the prestigious Preetz Toy Theatre Festival in Germany in September 2008. Not to be missed.

Finally Minstrelesque Marionettes 1/3rd life size figures appear in "Marionette Magic" in a colourful variety presentation.
